NEW SUMMER WORKSHOP OPPORTUNITY!
TARGET AUDIENCE: MIDDLE AND SECONDARY EDUCATORS: TEACHERS, COUNSELORS, and ADMINISTRATORS

Oh, the Places They'll Go!
Dr. Seuss wrote a book on the topic, and this series of workshops is designed to help Arkansas students know about the job opportunities and places they can go as they seek their American Dreams in the professional workplace.

Did you know that today’s skilled and professional workforce is aging out and the next generation of new talent is not sufficiently skilled to fill the demand? There are an estimated 5.6 million job openings nationwide, with approximately 60,000 of those in Arkansas. The majority are in high skilled technical fields and these jobs make up a vast majority of the manufacturing sector, a cornerstone of the state’s economy, and represent more than 90 percent of Arkansas’s exports. In addition, industries such as construction and trucking are also struggling to find qualified technical professionals. Unfortunately, there is a negative perception of these jobs held by the American public, so our goal is to change this perception by showcasing these outstanding job opportunities across the state.

The goal of Connecting Educators to Industry is to connect educators with industry experts in regions across the state by providing educators with research, data, and information that can be shared with students as they make decisions about future career paths in manufacturing, trucking, construction, agriculture and other industries in Arkansas.

The amazing Be Pro Be Proud unit will be onsite. All participants will experience the simulations inside the unit firsthand and learn how to schedule visits to schools across the state.

This fun, fast paced, informative day will make a difference in the lives of many of your students! Don't miss out!

Upon successful completion, participants will receive:

  • Six Hours of ADE Certified Professional Development
  • Grade Level appropriate resources
  • Opportunity to visit with industry leaders
  • lunch
  • $50 stipend *
  • *Stipend available to all certified teachers based on school district policy.

Registration begins at 8:30 am and the workshop begins promptly at 9:00 am.
