The Stock Market Game
Each semester, 4th – 12th grade students may participate in this simulation, which introduces them to the exciting world of investing and its role in the U.S. and world economies. The object of the program is to grow their hypothetical $100,000 portfolios during a 10-week period. Current events, social studies, economics, math and reading are integrated into this experience as teams use critical thinking skills to make wise investment decisions. Winners are honored during an awards luncheon where they receive prizes, certificates and t-shirts. To learn more about The Stock Market Game™, you may visit www.smgww.org.
The purpose of the Arkansas Personal Finance Challenge is to honor teachers and students in grades 9-12 who have demonstrated excellence in mastery of personal finance skills. The intent is to encourage high standards for achievement and to provide support and encouragement to school systems, teachers and students for their accomplishments. The competition will be for teacher-sponsored teams of four students. Teachers may enter any number of teams per school in the free, online competition.
