The Economics Arkansas staff consists of six professionals. Please feel free to contact us if you want more information about our organization.


Sue Owens joined the Economics Arkansas staff June 1, 2004 as Executive Director. Sue's professional career includes 24 years in banking, in addition to serving as the past Marketing Director for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arkansas. Sue's primary responsibilities include: fundraising, mission advocacy, public relations, and program/organizational management. Geanie Channell joined the Economics Arkansas staff in August of 2000 as Program Coordinator, and was named Senior Program Coordinator in June 2009. Geanie worked as a classroom teacher for more than 20 years, is a national and state winner of numerous economic education awards, plus she has her master's degree in economic education. Geanie coordinates the EconomicsAmerica Program, the Economics/Personal Finance Challenge, and the fast-growing Teacher Grant Program, in addition to leading workshops and in-services statewide.
Marsha Masters joined the Economics Arkansas team June 15, 2009 as Program Coordinator. She brings more than 20 years of teaching experience to the position, plus she has a master's degree in education. She also has comprehensive experience with integrating economic education into every subject area, due to her role as a Master Economics Teacher during the past 9 years. Marsha's duties include coordinating the Bessie B. Moore Arkansas Awards Program, and the Polly M. Jackson Master Economics Teacher program, plus leading workshops and in-services statewide. Marsha is the winner of multiple national and state economic education awards.
Stacey Ray joined the Economics Arkansas staff in October of 2008 as Development Coordinator.  She previously worked at Alltel in the Corporate Benefits Department for over 13 years.  Her duties include coordinating fundraising efforts such as the Arkansas Bankers Campaign, Northwest Arkansas Campaign, Corporate Trivia Challenge Events, grants, etc. She also assists administrative and program tasks as needed.
Elisha Poteet joined Economics Arkansas’s staff in April 2000 as Administrative Assistant, and in 2006 was promoted to Program Assistant. Her responsibilities include supporting Economics Arkansas’s program staff in conducting workshops and in-service training sessions, plus student-focused programs such as Stock Market GameT and Economics/Personal Finance Challenge competitions. In addition, Elisha assists with the logistics of teacher and student recognition luncheons, helping with curriculum development and correlating curriculum to Arkansas Frameworks, and Economics Arkansas’s Teacher Grant Program.
Kathy Moore joined Economics Arkansas's staff in January 2001 and serves as the Executive Administrative Assistant. Kathy's duties include maintaining the financial records of the organization, assisting with the board of directors, managing front office tasks and helping with development and program tasks as needed. She also creates and distributes the Economics Arkansas newsletter, maintains the organization's donor database and coordinates website updates.
