Assists with programs, special events, grants, reports, public relations, and other duties necessary to support the needs of Economics Arkansas. This position is classified as NON-EXEMPT.
Job Description
The Grants & Communications Coordinator reports to the Executive Director and works closely with other members of the EA staff. Areas of responsibility include:
Grant Management & Development Support
- Maintain a calendar of grant report deadlines and ensure all documents are submitted on time.
- Submit grant applications and post-grant reports as needed.
- Assist with donor database maintenance and issue gift receipts and thank you notes to donors in a timely manner
- Assist with application narrative and reporting of annual and mid-year reports for the Arkansas Department of Education grants.
- Assist with planning and execution of annual fundraising campaigns including the Arkansas Bankers Association campaign, year-end appeal, EA Day of Giving, etc.
Special Event Assistance
- Assist with EA signature events by handling bulk mailings, collecting sponsor logos, providing event program details to the Program & Special Events Assistant, and offering other support as needed.
- Issue timely donor invoices and acknowledgment receipts and any post-event follow-up.
- Assist with logistics of regional fundraising events
Public Relations & Marketing Support
- Plan and execute monthly social media calendars and content to promote EA programs, events, and donor recognition.
- Write and distribute press releases promoting EA programs, events, and fundraising efforts when appropriate.
- Maintain and update EA website content as needed.
- Create and distribute monthly e-newsletters for EA donors.
Miscellaneous Project Activities
- Assist with bulk mailings such as the annual Impact Report, Sammy Rabbit campaigns, etc.
Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
> Bachelor's Degree or higher.
> Preferred 2 or more years of writing experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
> Strong time management, organizational and planning skills; results and detail-oriented; ability to prioritize work assignments.
> Excellent writing, communication and presentation skills.
> Proficient in managing social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest.
> Experience with website management and content development.
> Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
> Experience with developing and maintaining productive working relationships with board members, volunteers, and donors.
> Ability to work well under pressure and meet frequent deadlines.
> Proficient in the use of personal computers in an office environment, including Microsoft Office and internet usage; knowledge of PowerPoint preferred.
> Ability to drive; including valid driver’s license with appropriate auto insurance coverage.
> Ability to travel in-state on occasion.
Specific Skills Required:
> Proficiency with Microsoft 365 software including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
> Proficiency in use of Quickbooks for Non-Profits accounting program.
Physical Requirements:
> Must be able to lift and/or carry at least 35 lbs to load/unload resources needed for meetings, trainings and conferences and get them to their respective destinations.
> Must be able to push and/or pull loaded carts to move resources from the office setting to another venue or vice-versa.
> Must provide transportation for self and/or resources to a destination where an organization’s event will be held.
> Must be able to express oneself through spoken word to impart oral information to board members, donors and constituents accurately, loudly or quickly.
> Must be able to hear, understand and distinguish speech and/or other sounds (e.g. alarms, telephone, doorbell, etc.
> Must have visual acuity near (20 inches or less for computers, reading, etc.) and far (20 feet or more to recognize features or people or objects).
