Arkansas Personal Finance Challenge Deadline to Register!

Friday, March 17, 2023

Arkansas high school students are invited to demonstrate their knowledge of personal finance and win prizes in this virtual, one-day competition hosted by Economics Arkansas and the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. Each teacher may register up to two teams of three to four students in grades 9-12, and no advance qualifications or tests are required.

Here's how the competition will work:

Teams will receive a fictitious case study on Monday, March 27, and have until Friday, March 31, to collaborate and prepare a six-minute PowerPoint presentation featuring suggestions based on the case study information. Presentations must be submitted to acee@economicsarkansas.org by 5 p.m. on March 31.
No changes may be made to the PowerPoint presentation once it has been submitted. Judges will evaluate the PowerPoint presentations based on content. The top three finalists will be notified by Tuesday, April 4, and will give their presentations live via Zoom on Wednesday, April 12, beginning at 10 a.m.
Prize money, certificates and medallions will be awarded. The first-place team will receive $500 and advance to the National Personal Finance Challenge.
The National Personal Finance Challenge will be hosted June 4-5, 2023, at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland. Economics Arkansas will provide the first-place team with $1,500 toward travel expenses to the competition. The National Personal Finance Challenge will provide rooms, meals and transportation to and from your lodgings and the event.
The competition is free, but registration is required by Friday, March 17. You will receive detailed login information from Economics Arkansas as the April event date nears
