Sheila Bair is an author, educator, and public servant. She is perhaps best known as Chair of the U.S. Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) from 2006 to 2011. She is a former finance professor and college president and has held positions at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, the New York Stock Exchange, and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
Bair is the author of the "Money Tales" children's book series which she describes as "fun, magical stories that help children learn the basics of managing money, so they can avoid common financial tricks and traps later in life."
