A Remarkable Reality--the American Dream Luncheon

A special gathering of educators and business leaders took place at the homestead of Sam and Helen Walton in Bentonville in December 2015.

The American Dream luncheon brought together several outstanding entrepreneurs from Northwest Arkansas who shared their insights into economic trends, the impact of technology and the need for partnerships between educators and business leaders. Moderated by Mike Malone of the Northwest Arkansas Council, the panel included David Slone, Superior Auto Group; Randy Lawson, Lawco Energy Group, and Steve Clark, Propak and Rockfish.

Fifty guests from industry and education attended the luncheon, including 3 4th-grade students from Central Park Elementary (Bentonville School District) who shared how they benefitted from economic education in the classroom.

We are very grateful to Jim Walton for hosting the luncheon at the family homestead and to the Northwest Arkansas Fundraising Committee representing ARVEST Bank volunteers for organizing this unique event. The fundraiser benefitted economic and personal finance education for K-12 teachers and students in Northwest Arkansas.
